This collection of solos with optional duet part combines with a swinging CD accompaniment to provide a great practice tool for learning the most popular jazz styles. A variety of keys and tempi give the soloist(s) ample opportunity to develop playing skills in this idiom - perfect for learning the "Big Band" style.

With this collection of solos(or duets) the student is provided a tool for working on the rhythmic and harmonic ideas that make up a typical majority of jazz tunes from the Swing era. The solo part(s) are deliberately laid out across two pages for clarity(no page turns) and both parts can be played individually(as well as by two layers)along with the accompaniment CD.

For the advanced player the chord symbols have been included and can provide good ear training for the improvised solo lines that are integral to the big band style. After playing along with the written part, the chords can guide the player in creating new melodies that correspond with the harmonic ideas in each piece.
